Rules

Here is a breakdown to the rules for this duel.

  1. You can not use any painted mini that was painted before May 1st.
  2. For a mini to count, a picture of it primed needs to be posted as well.
  3. Minis need to be fully painted and based.
  4. No rush jobs. No painting one color, washing/dipping and calling it good.
  5. Trash talking is a must, but give props where props are due.
  6. Models can be from any range, but we are mainly looking at Warhammer Fantasy and 40k. Other ranges are subject to approval and a point scale will be made for them.
  7. Models that were assembled and/or converted prior to May 1st can be used. Conversions before May 1st do not count towards conversion points but can be given prop points.

Points break down

  1. Cores and troops on 20-25mm bases will be at 5 points each
  2. Core and troops on cavalry and bike bases will be worth 8 points each
  3. Cores and troops on 40mm bases will be worth 10 points each
  4. Elites, Fast Attack, and Specials on 20-25mm bases will be worth 8 points each
  5. Elites, Fast Attack, and Specials on cavalry and bike bases will be worth 10 points each
  6. Elites, Fast Attack, and Specials on 40mm bases will be worth 15 points each.
  7. Rares and Heavy Support on 20-25mm bases will be worth 10 points each
  8. Rares and Heavy Support on cavalry and bike bases bases will be worth 15 points each
  9. Rares and Heavy Support on 40mm bases will be worth 20 points each
  10. Any unit on a chariot or 60mm base will be worth 25 points each
  11. Units on monster or flyer bases will be worth 35 points each
  12. Small vehicles, such as a land speeder, will be worth 25 points
  13. Medium vehicles, such as a truk and dedicated transports will be worth 30 points
  14. Large vehicles, like a land raider, will be worth 35 points
  15. HQs, Lords, and Heroes will be worth the following;
  • 20-25mm bases 15 points
  • cavalry and bike base 20 points
  • 40mm bases 25 points
  • chariot or 60mm bases 30 points
  • monster base 40 points
  1. Any model in a 15mm range will be treated as if it is will be scored in the core or troop range
  2. Any model on a 30mm base or infinity models will scored as elites/special models.
  3. Any named characters from these ranges will be scored just like HQ models.

Additional points can be earned with conversions, based movement trays, prop points, and completed squads.

  • Conversions will be based on their difficulty and time spent. Points will be discussed and awards when the model is complete. Basic or easy conversions, such a head or weapon swap will be worth 1 point per model. Level 2 conversions, such as posing, light green stuff  and plasticard work will be worth 2 points per model. Anything more will be determined upon completion of the model.
  • Squads of 3-5 will award the painter an additional 4 points.
  • Squads of 6-10 will award the painter an additional 8 points
  • Squads of 11-20 will award the painter an additional 12 points
  • Squads of anything 20+ will award the painter an additional 18 points.
  • Props points can be awarded by the opponent and readers.  These points can range from 1-10 points. 10 points being a drop dead model that you would feel comfortable with posting on http://www.coolminiornot.com/. They can be given to a single model or an entire unit. They can not however be awarded to multiple models within a unit.
